Experiencing Great Restaurants and Delicious Libations

Coach Insignia – Detroit MI

In the Renaissance Center, Detroit MI

It is Restaurant Week in Detroit and I went to Coach Insignia on the 72 floor of the Renaissance Center. The participating restaurants have a special dinner menu for $30. I selected a caesar salad, scallops with a corn relish and fennel, and a bread pudding with fresh berries. It was all delicious. The view is equally as impressive. You get to the restaurant from the Winter Garden at street level of the massive Renaissance Center complex. A glass express elevator in a glass tube on the side of the tower takes you up to the 72 floor. The views across the Detroit River are of Canada, looking upriver you can see Belle Isle Park, and looking downriver you can see the Ambassador Bridge. As the sunsets, all of the lights of Detroit and its suburbs are spread out below as far as the eye can see.
